Embarrassed By A Mate’s Appearance

Today’s couples say that when they married for better or for worse, that didn’t include if their partner’s looks changed for the worse! The men in these relationships are frustrated with their wives’ weight gain and signs of aging, while the women feel betrayed that their husbands no longer find them attractive. After 25 years of marriage, Ed says he wishes April tried harder to preserve her “gorgeous” looks from when they first met. April admits that she sometimes takes out her dentures and wears unattractive outfits, but she insists that her job as a cook doesn’t lend itself to dressing up. Eddie’s hope in bringing April to the show is that she’ll start taking more pride in her appearance.

Even though Jesse tries his hardest to convince his wife Amanda she looks great, Amanda’s self-esteem is at an all-time low after gaining 80 pounds. She won’t even let Jesse kiss her because she’s afraid it will lead to sex. Jesse says he just wants Amanda to realize her beauty and put the spark back in their marriage.

Freeman admits that he’s not satisfied with Jennifer’s appearance, but despite the lack of physical attraction, he says it sweetens his end of the marriage. According to Freeman, Jennifer treats him like a king to make sure he doesn’t leave her! Jennifer wants to regain her confidence and feel secure in the relationship, starting with today’s makeover.

The truth hurts and no one knows that better than Renee. David is constantly making rude remarks about Renee’s appearance and threatening to cheat on her or leave if she doesn’t lose weight. Renee says that his behavior doesn’t have the desired effect of motivating her and that she wishes David would respect her more.
